On July 14, 2022, the U.S. Department of Education along with the Afterschool Alliance, AASA – the School Superintendents Association, National Comprehensive Center at Westat, National League of Cities, and the National Summer Learning Association, in allyship with more than 20 national organizations, launched the Engage Every Student initiative designed to ensure that every student who wants a spot in a high-quality out-of-school time program has one.
